Feeding ProgrammeAt The Joseph Project, we believe that no child should have to choose between education and hunger.
Through our school-based Feeding Programme, we provide nutritious meals to more than 18,000 school-attending children during school term time across a network of 20+ feeding centres in Zimbabwe. Every meal served represents far more than food on a plate—it is an investment in a child’s education, health, wellbeing and future.
What makes our programme unique is that every meal begins thousands of miles away. Generous volunteers and supporters in Coventry, United Kingdom and Italy help pack specially prepared meal boxes. These boxes are then shipped by sea freight, transported through regional ports, and delivered to Zimbabwe, where they are distributed to our feeding centres and prepared by dedicated local volunteers.
The result is simple but powerful: children who are nourished, able to concentrate in class, attend school more consistently, and have a greater opportunity to reach their full potential.
As a Christian organisation, we also seek to care for the whole child—body, mind and spirit. Alongside practical support, we have opportunities to share God’s love, encouragement and the hope found in the Gospel with the children and communities we serve.
Follow the Journey
The image above tells the story of our Feeding Programme from beginning to end.
Follow each stage to see how a meal box travels from generous volunteers in the United Kingdom and Italy, through international transport networks, into Zimbabwe, and ultimately onto the plate of a child who may otherwise go hungry.
From packed box… to prepared meal… to transformed life.
Every box packed.
Every mile travelled.
Every meal served.
Every child reached.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…” — Matthew 25:35
